If you have significant dental or orthodontic problems, you may be very unhappy with the condition of your teeth. Fortunately, you don't need to spend decades feeling embarrassed about missing teeth, a crooked smile, or other blemishes. At Implant and Churchlane, we can use Invisalign, dental implants, and other techniques to improve the quality of your smile.
If your teeth are severely misaligned or crooked, you may have difficulty maintaining a good oral hygiene routine. This problem can cause you to develop gum disease, tooth decay, and other health problems. We may address these issues by providing you with metal braces. Your braces will use brackets and wires to gradually straighten your misaligned teeth, improve your bite problems, and address your other orthodontic issues. Since eating whole apples, hard sweets, and other foods could damage your braces, you'll need to make some minor dietary changes during your treatment. In addition, you will need to schedule regular orthodontic appointments while you have your braces on. When you visit our office, we will tighten your wires and monitor the changing position of your teeth. Generally, you will need to wear your metal braces for up to three years.
Metal braces aren't the only way to fix misaligned teeth and give you a beautiful smile. Invisalign is a gentle treatment that will use a collection of plastic aligners to improve your teeth. If you use this technique to correct your dental problems, we will use sophisticated technology to create custom aligners for you. You will need to wear your aligners for a significant amount of time each day.
As your teeth improve, you'll switch to new sets of plastic aligners. It is normal to wear a new set of aligners every two weeks or so. In general, you should expect to wear your aligners for about six to 18 months. Since you'll be able to remove your aligners when you eat, drink, and clean your teeth, you won't need to make any major dietary or other lifestyle adjustments during orthodontic treatment.
In the past, medical providers had difficulty replacing missing teeth. They used ineffective measures such as providing a person with a removable prosthesis or a fixed bridge. Fortunately, these days are over and today's dentists can use a number of sophisticated techniques to treat missing teeth. If you are missing a tooth, we may be able to improve your smile by providing you with a dental implant. During your treatment, we will use advanced technology to create three-dimensional images of your jaw and mouth. These images will allow us to carefully place your implant in the best position in your mouth. If you are missing multiple teeth and wear dentures, we can also use dental implants to keep your dentures in place.
Having discoloured or chipped teeth can keep you from feeling confident when you smile. Fortunately, you don't have to be a model, actor, or celebrity to use veneers to correct this problem. A veneer is a thin coating that we apply to the front of your missing or discolored teeth. Your veneers will whiten your discolored teeth and give you an attractive, healthy appearance. Typically, when using veneers to enhance your look, you will need to schedule two visits to our Champions Gate office. During your first visit, we will shape your teeth and choose an attractive color for your veneers. During your second appointment, we will use a special liquid to clean your teeth. Next, we'll put your veneer into your mouth using adhesive cement.
Before we give you aligners, implants or any other treatment, we will examine your mouth and jaw carefully. Depending on your needs, we can also perform X-rays of your mouth. We use these images to create a unique treatment plan for you. For example, if your teeth are very crooked or twisted, we can recommend metal braces to fix this. Also, if you are a forgetful person and cannot remember to wear plastic braces, we can recommend metal braces to straighten your teeth. On the other hand, if you want to use a very careful approach to improving your appearance, you may be a good candidate for Invisalign.
